Brislington Meadows housing proposals

Earlier this year, outline planning permission was granted for up to 260 homes on Brislington Meadows. The plans include high quality landscaping, 30% affordable housing and a commitment to delivering a 10% increase in biodiversity.

The site was allocated for housing by Bristol City Council in 2014 and the plans respond to the significant need for housing in the city. The site is considered to be in a highly sustainable location, close to local shops, community facilities, employment areas and public transport. infrastructure.

A Reserved Matters application is expected to follow in late 2024 and we will be issuing updates in due course.

Winter Health and Safety tree works at Brislington Meadows

Thu 30th Jan 2025 at 17:00

Winter tree works are planned at Brislington Meadows, to attend to dead elms within hedgerows and along the footpath from Bonville Road. Overhanging tree branches to the garages near Alison Road, plus felling of a dead sycamore at this location will be carried out at the same time. The works are health and safety related to reduce impact on the public. The works have been checked for ecological impact and approved by Homes England’s ecologist, the felled wood will either be chipped or stacked in habitat piles, the elms within the hedgerows on the meadows left a 1.3 m high habitat poles.

The contractor will have machinery on Alison Road and various other parts of the site but will not be blocking access for any extended period of time, please be aware and understanding of the workforce when in the area if they ask for you divert or wait for them to make a safe passage past.

The works are due to be completed Tuesday 4th February by Steward Woodland and Land Management.

Bonville Road boundary work

Wed 9th Oct 2024 at 09:08

Work to finalise the post and rail boundary fencing along Bonville Road, which began earlier this year, is set to recommence next week and is expected to last approximately two days. The remaining sections of old post and wire fencing will be removed and replaced with post and rail. Some minor scrub clearance will also take place to integrate the new fencing with existing natural barriers, creating a secure boundary. The work is being done outside of seasonal ecological constraints.
